The Details:

A) Reveal vehicle problems before visiting the garage.

To use OBD2-Expert, simply connect a compatible OBD2 WiFi or BLE adapter to your vehicle and select it within the app. You'll then be able to view current sensor data, load diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), and examine freeze frame data related to any errors. The component monitoring feature can also provide insights into potential issues by showing contiguous and non-contiguous monitors, as well as offering a detailed analysis of mode 6 diagnostics (if supported by your vehicle). If you're confident in your repair skills, you can even reset the saved DTCs.

B) Load vehicle status files and try the functionality of the app.

Tired of investing in apps that fail to deliver? With OBD2-Expert, you can try out the app's functionality for free by loading a vehicle status file instead of connecting it to an adapter.

C) Share your vehicle status with others and discuss solutions.

OBD2-Expert allows you to capture your vehicle's state, including all DTCs and sensor data. You can save this information for future diagnostics or share it with others to seek their input on possible solutions.

D) For developers: Use this app as a BLE-OBD2-ScanTool instead of an expensive hardware simulator.

If you're involved in developing an OBD2-ScanTool but lack access to multiple vehicles and their respective protocols, OBD2-Expert can serve as a cost-effective BLE-OBD2-ScanTool adapter, saving you from having to invest in a costly hardware simulator.

E) For learning: Use this app as a BTLE/WiFi Bridge and inspect the protocol communication.

For those eager to deepen their understanding of OBD2 protocol communication, OBD2-Expert allows you to utilize a BTLE dongle and bridge it to another OBD2 app via WiFi. Please note that this feature requires an iPad Pro or another physical phone or tablet capable of running two apps concurrently.

Supported Bluetooth hardware:

Please be aware that OBD2-Expert does not support Bluetooth 2.x or 3.x adapters. These limitations are inherent to the hardware and cannot be altered. Therefore, it is important to note that many very cheap BTLE OBD2 adapters do not feature Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
